Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

• The author(s) confirm that the paper has not been published previously in full or in part, nor is it currently under consideration for publication in any other journal.
• The corresponding author confirms that they have the authorisation of all co-authors to submit the manuscript.
• The authors agree to be published under the Creative Commons BY-SA licence.
• Three files in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or OpenOffice document format will be sent: 1. A cover letter. 2. Anonymized manuscript file 3. Manuscript information file. For more details, see the section "Manuscript Submission".
• The reference list includes DOIs; full URLs are provided only if the DOIs are missing.
• The submission is plagiarism / self-plagiarism free.
• The text is typed 1.5 line spacing; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
